Sta 4 was alerted at 5:28pm for a brush fire in the 800blk of Lincoln Way West.
Engs 43, 45, SU-44 and Chief 46 arrived to a 200x200 size pile involved and was found to be spreading to the near-by standing grass fields. Chief 46 established command and requested an additional brush truck bringing SU-17(New Franklin) and 1 tanker bringing Tanker 13(Letterkenny). Crews were able to quickly contain the field fire and then turned their focus to the pile. Crews spent an hour mopping up the area.

An 8pm call to the firehouse sends units to the Carsons Mobile Home Park for an Inside Investigation of a gas odor. Asst 48 Olson, Squad 41, Truck 42 & Eng 43 arrived to a new single wide and the homeowner reporting a strong odor of propane. Crews metered the residence and checked the new propane tanks. Nothing found.

Dispatched Auto Accident- vehicle in the water
Sta 4 and EMS arrived finding a single vehicle, off the roadway. The driver had self extricated and was not injured but required PSP assistance. Crews cleared relatively quickly.

Interstate 81 NB @ mm 18
Sta 4 and mutual aide units responded for an auto accident, vehicle rolled over with entrapment. Sq-41 arrived, confirming the single occupant had already self-extricated. DC-47 Miller held only NB units. The patient was checked by EMS and refused treatment. Fire Police and PSP remained on the scene.

Truck 42 & Squad 41 responded to Brechbill Loop Rd in Co.17s (New Franklin) area for a barn fire. Sgt 17(Nesbitt) arrived to a 35x20 animal barn on fire. Truck 42 set up the aerial and provided overhead lighting, the Squad arrived and both crews went to work removing tin and manning a handline.
While in the process of moving tin for fire attack, Sgt 44-2, C Miller uncovered a lifeless animal. The Sgt performed a “sternum rub” which proved to be life saving. The animal jumped up and ran to safety! (This is a true and accurate story)

Auto Accident
Squad 41, Eng 43 and EMS arrived finding a 2 vehicle, rear-end collision that occurred just west of Mower Rd in the EB lanes. As a result of the collision, 1 vehicle traveled through the intersection, across the WB lanes and came to rest in the Bonanza parking lot. Crews found minor injuries along with fluid and debris throughout the roadway. EMS handled patient care while the roadway was cleared. Fire Police remained awaiting towing and PSP.
